Blog Post: Giving AI Art a Chance: The Journey Begins
s

Hey there, fellow adventurers! ๐
Welcome to another episode of “What Was I Thinking?” โ my blog series where I navigate the wonderfully chaotic world of creativity. Todayโs story is all about how I went from a staunch AI art skeptic to dipping my toes into the digital unknown. Buckle up, because this oneโs a rollercoaster of laughs and revelations!
A while ago, I learned that itโs crucial to surround yourself with people who can inspire and teach you. Enter Joe. Joe is a phenomenal teacher and person, and he was determined to drag me into the world of AI art. Iโll be honest โ at first, I was a major skeptic. How in the world could this be art? I mean, seriously, I can google images all day long. Why would I try this AI art thing?
Joe, bless his persistent heart, kept telling me how amazing I would be at AI art. I started noticing AI art popping up in The Creators Club calls, and I found myself hiding the posts because, in my mind, it was fake art. Then, it hit me โ why was I judging something I hadnโt even tried? It wasnโt going to replace my watercolors, crochet projects, or those magical moments chasing sunsets with my camera. AI art wouldnโt take away the joy of capturing the perfect sunset.
Speaking of sunsets, that very afternoon, I decided to visit a sunflower field in peak bloom. I watched as the sunset painted the sky, and for a brief moment, everything felt perfect. Then, as if on cue, clouds rolled in, threatening rain. No biggie, though. I soaked in the moment and used it as a perfect filming opportunity. I snapped a bunch of photos, excited to post them on Facebook โ a much-needed pick-me-up after a bout of heartache (PS, dating at my age is a circus).
Later, I joined yet another Creators Club call, late as usual. Everyone was buzzing about AI art again. Okay, okay, I thought. The writing is on the wall โ time to check it out. My first stop was Mage Space, a tool Luke had shown me during a visit to his shop. It looked like fun, so why not poke a stick at it and give it a try?
Stay tuned for the next episode of “Yvette is a Nut” where I dive headfirst into the world of AI art, experiencing all the emotions and hilarity that come with it. Spoiler: itโs going to be a wild ride!
Feel free to laugh along with me as I embark on this new adventure. Until next time, keep creating and chasing those sunsets!
