Welcome to the first installment of “What Was I Thinking?” – my new blog series chronicling the highs and lows of starting a digital company. My story might not be the same as everyone else’s, but it’s mine, and I’m here to share it with all its messy, beautiful honesty. Buckle up, because this ride is about to get hilarious!

First, a bit about me. I’m a straight shooter, easy-going, and pretty adaptable. Picture a chameleon but with a coffee addiction. I joined a local Facebook group called “The Creators Club,” thinking, “Hey, I do nothing but art, I belong here!” At that point, the idea of an online store was as foreign to me as a quiet house. I was just creating art to pull myself out of a rut and, to my surprise, got pretty good at it. Art became my escape hatch during a tough time.

So, who am I? I’m a single mom of three incredible kids, running this three-ring circus solo for about ten years now. Dating? Not unless you count my relationship with Netflix. My focus has always been on being the best mom I can be, but financial security? Ha! That dream has been more elusive than my kids’ missing socks.

Not that I’m dreaming of Scrooge McDuck-style riches. No, I just want to pay bills without feeling like I’m auditioning for a role in “Survivor: Monthly Expenses Edition.” Imagine not biting my nails every time a bill arrives, setting up autopay without a panic attack, and affording my kids’ lunches without feeling like I’m drowning. Tall order? Sure. Achievable? Absolutely. I’m on it like a squirrel on a bird feeder!

Why am I so determined? Because I want a piece of land, a cozy house, and a life without chaos. Trust me, my life sometimes feels like a bad Lifetime movie – single mom, three kids. My oldest is the overachiever who thinks “perfection” is a life goal. My middle child seems to believe his sole mission is to disrupt his sister’s perfect little world. And my youngest, sweet and quiet, is my little oasis of calm.

Now that you know a bit about me, let’s dive into what I want in life. This journey started with a website but has morphed into something much bigger. It’s about balancing creativity, motherhood, and the pursuit of a dream – all while keeping my sanity intact.
